HUCK FINN COMMENTS: Good news America. We can finally move on with our lives. The recession is here, and you'd have to be a complete DIDIOT not to believe it. The only people left not acknowledging the recession are the Bush administration.
Warren Buffet thinks there's a recession. And finally, the best financial magazine in the world has acknowledged it in an article, "Jobs Data Suggests U.S. in Recession." What took them so long? Once again, it proves data is often wrong or misleading.
If you talk to most Americans, they'll tell you the U.S. is in recession. Economics is analyzed at the macro level, but in
reality it's the small signs that can reveal the true situation. When we started this website, we made it a point to predict economy would be the number one issue for voters this year.
There were many small signs (or variables) that proved to us recession is actually here. These variables are my own proprietary information, but you don't need to know them since much smarter people than me are tracking variables which tell us whether we are in recession or not.
The recession prediction model is flawed. Theoretically, a recession happens when GDP (Gross Domestic Product) runs negative for two quarters in the row... but tell that to the hundreds of thousands of Americans with foreclosure signs in front of their homes.
It's ironic Bernanke only recently claimed that there was no recession. (Please see PutinToon 56: Putin Goes to Disneyland.)
The bottom line is we've been in recession for at least six months, despite what the economic data states. If you want to know more than your friends, read these articles we wrote addressing the recession:

When I see the government and media telling Americans there is no recession, when we can all see it right in front of our faces, it only confirms my theories of mis-information and cover ups. Our current administration is still denying the economic hardship in America.
The Bush administration will probably admit there's a recession around rebate time in May. That is so it looks like Bush is a hero and the government acted swiftly to veer off or stop the recession.
The sad fact is, the $157 billion rebate program will not be enough due to the weak dollar, the $9 trillion debt, high oil prices and the $12 billion per month war. If the Bush administration and the Fed don't act carefully, we could slip into a mild depression.
Tough times require unorthodox measures. We have linked to a website called It's the Recession, Stupid at ItstheRecessionStupid.com.
The site offers useful recession tips with a bit of humor to help
everyone through the tough times. It's only getting tougher, so check
it our and pass it on to everyone you care about.
