HUCK FINN COMMENTS: While watching President Bush's recent trip to the Middle East, I was amused that our government, with all their super, duper brain-powered analysts would stoop low enough to beg for more oil from the Middle East.
I have nothing against Middle East countries maximizing their natural assets. If I had their incredible oil reserve, I'd do the same -- I'd keep the oil prices as high as possible without putting the world in the recession.
Why does Bush kiss the Middle East's ass instead of making friends with Russia?
The Cold War is over, and Russia isn't the enemy. Russia is no longer a Communist country. If Bush wants to spread ...
Democracy to other countries, then he should focus on democratizing Saudi Arabia, not Russia.
There are various types of democracies. Russia's not close to being a free democracy but we'd be much better off being friends with them than not. Do Americans really care what kind of democracy Russia currently has? We buy some much crap from China and they're not a democracy.
Russia has a "substantial" amount of energy resources. Demand for oil will drastically increase over the next 20 years. Do we want Russia to sell their oil to us or the Chinese?
Let's make friends with Russia. Let's not start another Cold War. I
don't think the American taxpayer really cares what kind of democracy
Russia is under. Right now we're more worried about our wallets.
RUSSIA GOT GAZ. WE MAKE FRIENDS WITH RUSSIA, WE GET MORE GAZ. SIMPLE!
